Goal is for families to move in by fall 2022.
Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North is working toward building affordable homes for two Muskoka families.
The Bala Build project is being led by the Muskoka Lakes adopt-a-home committee, which hopes to complete construction in time for fall occupancy.
Here is what we know about the project so far:
— The build is to be located at 1016 Elm St. in Bala. It is being designed as a semi-detached duplex that caters to families with mobility challenges.
— Fundraising for the project began in fall 2020. On Aug. 20, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Bracebridge held an in-person outdoor event that brought in $8,200 in donations. The team’s fundraising goal is $216,000.
